Woman Killed By Brother After Murdering Family Members, Police Say

(USNewsBreak.com) – Family tensions can cause people to do some wild things. In Kentucky, a 56-year-old woman apparently went on a shooting rampage on May 3 against several members of her family, including her husband, brother, and sister. Her brother killed her when he returned fire.

According to a press release by the Kentucky State Police, family members requested officers’ help to find a Ford F150 truck driven by Angela Gosser of Russell Springs. Nearly 30 minutes after they sprung into action, they received another call to carry out “investigative assistance with a deadly shooting incident” at a Russell County residence. When they arrived, they found Gosser dead and her brother seriously wounded.

A preliminary investigation determined that Gosser showed up at her brother, Darryl Wilson’s house, with a firearm and “forced entry.” Wilson also armed himself, and both parties shot each other. Gosser’s injuries were fatal.

The story doesn’t end there, though. While troopers were covering the scene at Wilson’s house, they received another call asking them to perform a welfare check on Gosser’s sister, Jennifer Wilson, after her family was unable to reach her.

Fearing for her safety, they asked the police to locate and check on her. When authorities found her vehicle, a Toyota Camry, partially off the side of Hammond Road, they found Jennifer Wilson dead inside with gunshot wounds to her head. They believe Gosser encountered and shot her sister while en route to her brother’s home.

Before she fired on either of her siblings, police believe Gosser shot her husband, 73-year-old Larry Gosser, first. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office announced on Saturday, May 4, that he died of a gunshot wound. The day prior, neighbors found him lying beside the road near his home and called the police, sparking the search for Angela Gosser.

Authorities are investigating the shootings and any potential motives behind them. The police informed the community that the situation posed “no further danger to the public.”
