Widower of County Prosecutor Suspected of Killing 2 Women and Himself

(USNewsBreak.com) – Allister Adel, a former Maricopa County attorney, died of health complications in April 2022. She was 45 at the time of her death. Her husband, David DeNitto, released a statement on behalf of the family. Now, he is back in the news for another tragic reason.

On December 25, the Phoenix Police Department issued a media advisory detailing a crime that occurred the night before, on Christmas Eve. Shortly before 11:30 p.m., dispatch called officers to a residence on North 2nd Avenue, where they found two women shot. First responders transported Cynthia Comini, 83, and Maryalice Cash, 47, to a local hospital, where medical personnel pronounced them dead.

Police also found the suspect, DeNitto, in the home at the time. Officers found him dead from an alleged self-inflicted gunshot wound. Homicide detectives are investigating the case, looking into what might have sparked the tragic event. According to the advisory, the three were attending a holiday gathering in the home, and there was a conflict before the shooting occurred. Detectives haven’t yet released a motive for the argument and subsequent attack.

According to The Hill, Cash and DeNitto were reportedly in a relationship at the time of their deaths. No further information was available, including how long the pair had dated.

Friends of the deceased women started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of the women’s funerals. The two were reportedly huge sports fans who frequently watched the state’s basketball and baseball teams at a local bar and had strong ties to the community.

One of Cash’s friends, Phil Tibi, said she was a very “family-oriented” person who had a “very strong personality” and was always making sure to recognize her loved ones’ special days, according to AZ Central. He noted that she had experienced multiple personal tragedies in the few years prior to her death.
