(USNewsBreak.com) – Earlier this month, President Joe Biden’s German Shepherd, Commander, was reportedly removed from the White House after numerous incidents of him biting personnel came to light. Making matters worse, he wasn’t the only dog the Bidens owned that did so. A previous dog, Major, had also been removed from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Now, one GOP member is seeking workplace safety reports surrounding the incidents.
On October 11, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), who chairs the Committee on Education and the Workforce, sent a letter to President Biden and Acting Secretary Julie Su. In it, she says, “The White House has the responsibility to set an example for ensuring workplace safety and health for its employees.” Citing the dozen biting incidents involving White House staff that the press has reported on, she expressed concern that the administration isn’t following OSHA standards.

To determine whether the administration is engaging in “rules for thee, but not for me,” Foxx is requesting several documents. She has requested that the White House send copies of OSHA forms 300, 300A, 301, or similar from January 20, 2021, until present, and annual reports that have been submitted to the Secretary of Labor for the Executive Office of the President. Additionally, Foxx is requesting that the administration provide the committee with copies of the workplace safety complaints that have been filed with OSHA since January 20, 2021. She is requesting that these documents be sent no later than October 25.
The nature of the bites has varied. Some staff members needed medical intervention, while others were less severe. Secret Service Agents, who have the most proximity to the president and, therefore, Commander, consist of the bulk of the cases. A White House spokesperson spoke with CNN and said the dog has been removed from the residence pending a decision about the next steps.
The previous dog, Major, has been rehomed and now lives with friends of the Biden family.
