Woman Accused of Threatening Judge in Trump Case

(USNewsBreak.com) – Former President Donald Trump is facing an ever-increasing number of legal woes. He recently faced a fourth indictment in as many months; the latest one occurred in Georgia. The charges have sparked heated responses from the former president and some of his followers. One woman lashed out so egregiously that she found herself behind bars.

US District Judge Tanya Chutkan is presiding over the January 6 case against Trump, where he faces four felony counts, including conspiracy to defraud the US, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. One Texas woman, 43-year-old Abigail Jo Shry, apparently wasn’t happy with Chuktan.

According to court documents, Special Agent Joshua Henry of the US Department of Homeland Security filed a criminal complaint against the Texas woman. In it, he accused her of “knowingly and willfully” committing a crime against the US. Her crime: threatening Judge Chutkan. The affidavit details Shry’s alleged crimes, including a voicemail left on the judge’s voicemail. It starts off with derogatory language before devolving into articulated threats to kill her. Shry said if Trump doesn’t win the 2024 election, Chutkan would “be targeted personally, publicly, your family, all of it.”

Authorities showed up at Shry’s house on August 8 and questioned her regarding the phone call. She admitted to making the call, although she said she had no intentions of traveling out of the state to carry out her threats.

Judge Chutkan isn’t the only one Shry threatened. She also stated her desire to “kill Sheila Jackson Lee,” referring to the Democratic Texas representative. Shry said if Jackson Lee visited Alvin, she couldn’t promise she wouldn’t carry out her threats.

Federal authorities have since booked Shry on a single felony count of transmitting a threat to injure another person across state lines and are holding her without bond.
